Dreamers : Chapter TWO
BERLIN DREAMERS
Tellian and collaborators traveled to Berlin for the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall. With the streets full of art, Tellian felt immediately connected to the city and its dreamers. Intending to shoot the portrait somewhere in the vicinity of the Wall, Tellian came across a photograph of the East Side Gallery in his site research. During the first few days of re-unification in 1989 106 artists from all over the world celebrated by covering this section of the Berlin Wall with artwork, and in turn transformed the once oppressive structure into an icon for expression.
On November 14, 2009 the dreamers of Berlin gathered in front of the East Side Gallery of the Berlin Wall in celebration, joy, hope, and to declare, "WE DREAM".
